The main challenge of solving this electrocardiographic imaging (ECGI) problem lies in its intrinsic ill-posedness. While many regularization techniques have been developed to control wild oscillations of the solution, the choice of proper regularization methods for obtaining clinically acceptable solutions is still a subject of ongoing research. With contributions from leading international researchers, Electrical Impedance Tomography: Methods, History and Applications provides an up-to-date review of the progress of EIT, the present state of knowledge, and a look at future advances and applications. Divided into four parts, the book presents an interdisciplinary approach.5/5(1).

In this paper, an image reconstruction algorithm for ECT, termed Adaptive Total Variation Regularization (ATVR), is introduced.

Abstract: Magnetic induction tomography (MIT) is an imaging modality with a wide range of potential applications due to its non-contact nature. MIT is a member of the electrical tomography family that faces the most difficult imaging challenges, due to its demanding measurement accuracy requirements and its difficult forward and inverse by: Some geophysical methods, such as gamma-ray spectrometry and remote sensing, measure surface attributes; others, such as thermal and some electrical methods are limited to detecting relatively shallow features but may help identify features at greater depth. Secondary effects of deeper features, such as geochemical haloes, can often be.

Regularisation methods for imaging from electrical measurements Abstract. In Electrical Impedance Tomography the conductivity of an object is estimated from boundary measurements. An array of electrodes is attached to the surface of the object and current stimuli are applied via these electrodes.

The resulting voltages are by:   In the imaging process, the TV regularization method can eliminate the excessive smoothness and preserve the discontinuity structures and boundaries Regularisation methods for imaging from electrical measurements book objects. Abstract: Electrical resistance tomography (ERT) is a technique for reconstructing internal conductivity distribution of the field from electrical measurements on the surface. It is a nonlinear and ill-posed inverse problem which is easily affected by measurement noise.

In order to improve the image quality of ERT, regularization methods are used to treat this ill-posedness. Comparison of methods for optimal choice of the regularization parameter for linear electrical impedance tomography of brain function.
